Your situation is not an uncommon one as organizations deal with that on a daily basis. If you have services running on the device itself that use accounts with any kind of domain or network access, reset the passwords for those accounts as well, or even create new accounts for those services to be sure.

Some general advice is to temporarily disable any accounts and access for that user that IT has control over (office365 etc) and force password resets on all accounts. Do a remote shutdown and have the computer shipped to you if need be, just make sure to seize control. Having the 'infected' machine available for remote control is the least of your concerns.
